The thing about plugin updates… they're not optional, but they're also not something you want to have to think about. We check your core, theme, and plugins on a regular schedule and update them, so you're never the one clicking “update now” and hoping nothing breaks.

Backup protection, built in

We work with your host's backup system. On the Complete plan, we run our own independent backups on top of your host's, twice a day, kept for 14 days. We also take a backup immediately before running any update, so there's always a fresh copy from right before we touched anything.

If something does break, we put it back

We restore your site using the most recent backup available and confirm everything's working again. That's why host account access is part of working with us… It means we can act in minutes, not after a back-and-forth.

24/7 security monitoring

Plugin Audit Requirement

Some sites require a plugin audit before getting started to make sure we start with a solid foundation. If a plugin audit is required, as determined by a quick survey before you get started, you will be notified with the reason. The standard rate for the plugin audit is $150, unless excessive plugins or cleanup are required.

When you hit “get started,” you'll answer a few quick questions about your site… things like when your plugins were last updated and whether you've noticed any errors. Based on your answers, you'll either go straight to the regular monthly rate, or we'll let you know you need a cleanup first, along with exactly why and exactly what it costs, before anything is charged.

We restore your site using the most recent backup available. On Complete, that's almost always the backup we took right before running the update, since that gives us the freshest, most accurate version of your site to restore from. On Essentials, that's your host's backup. Either way, we confirm everything's working again.

The monthly report is sent on the first of every month and includes details on all actions taken on your site. Complete also includes backup details, any user updates, and other info. You can check out an example report here.

Yes. We require access to your hosting account so that if there's ever an issue with an update, we can restore your site the quickest way possible, without losing time figuring out who can get in and fix it.

If you're on the monthly rate, yes, cancel anytime, no penalty, no long term commitment. Annual plans are paid upfront and aren't refundable, so if you're not sure yet, starting monthly is the lower-commitment way to try it out.

Not at this time. WordPress sites with WooCommerce cannot be added to the standard EmpowerTech WordPress Care Plan, but we can draft a custom quote for you tailored to your site's needs.

It depends on what's actually released. Most updates get a short waiting period first, usually just a few days, so we can see if other sites run into any issues before we touch yours. Security patches are the exception… if there's an active vulnerability, we update right away instead of waiting.

Yep. If Essentials starts feeling like it's not quite enough, or Complete feels like more than you need right now, just reach out and we'll switch you over. No penalty, no hoops to jump through.

Yes. It's a one-time $55 add-on, and you don't have to decide on it right away. Whether you're on Essentials or Complete, just reach out whenever you're ready and we'll get it set up.

That's exactly what the quick check during signup is there to catch. If your site needs more than a standard cleanup, like years of untouched plugins or a known mess, we'll tell you clearly what's going on and give you an upfront quote before any work starts.

No, and that's intentional. We manage update notifications so your dashboard stays clean instead of cluttered with numbers you'd otherwise have to think about. Your monthly report is where you'll see what was actually done.
