If you have ever copied a new client’s details from one app and pasted them into three others, you already know how much time those little manual steps eat up. One or two is no big deal, but they add up fast when you are running a business.

I have used OttoKit (formerly SureTriggers) to run the automations behind Studio117 Creative for the past few years, and I am on their lifetime plan. In this OttoKit review, I am walking you through how I actually use it, what it costs, where it shines, and the one thing that still drives me nuts.

I have used OttoKit to automate Studio117 Creative for years, and I am on the lifetime plan. Here is how I use it, what it costs, how it stacks up against Zapier, and the one thing that still drives me nuts.

What Is OttoKit?

OttoKit is a no-code automation platform that connects your apps so they can share information without you playing middleman. You pick a trigger, like a new form submission or a new Stripe customer, and then choose what should happen next in your other tools.

It started out as SureTriggers and comes from the same team behind Astra, SureForms, and SureCart. That WordPress background shows. OttoKit connects with more than 1,500 apps, and it goes deeper with WordPress and WordPress plugins than any other automation tool I have used.

Why I Switched from Zapier to OttoKit

Before OttoKit, I used Zapier, but honestly not very much. It was on the pricier side for a small business, and it did not have some of the connections I actually needed.

OttoKit checked both boxes. It was more affordable and it connected the tools I use every day, so I started on a monthly plan to test it out and make sure I liked how it worked.

Then OttoKit ran a Black Friday special on their lifetime plan, and I grabbed it. With so many subscriptions hitting a business account every month or year, paying once for a tool I rely on daily was a big deal for me.

How I Use OttoKit in My Business

Here is a look at a few of the workflows running in my business right now. None of them are flashy. They just quietly take tasks off my plate every single week.

Tracking Every Published Blog Post in Google Sheets

Every time I publish a blog post, OttoKit adds it to a Google Sheet automatically. That gives me a running record of everything I have published without logging a thing myself.

Tracking My Review Posts the Same Way

My review posts on the Studio117 Creative blog get the same treatment in their own tracking sheet. When it is time to update older reviews or plan internal links, everything is already in one place.

Creating Xero Contacts from New Stripe Customers

When a new customer comes through Stripe, OttoKit creates a matching contact in Xero. That saves me a step when I sit down to balance my books, because the contact is already there waiting for me.

Adding New Moxie Leads and Clients to Google Contacts

When someone requests a quote or becomes a new client in Moxie, OttoKit adds them to my Google Contacts. So when I go to email them from Google Workspace, their information pops right up.

Adding Opted-In Leads to My Kit Email List

My quote request form asks whether the person would like to join my email list. If they check yes, OttoKit adds them as a subscriber in Kit (formerly ConvertKit), so I never have to export and import contacts by hand.

And that is just a handful of what I have running. Once you start spotting the repetitive steps in your business, you will find automation opportunities everywhere.

What I Love About OttoKit

Pricing That Makes Sense for Small Businesses

OttoKit has a free plan, and paid plans start at $9 per month when billed annually. On top of that, triggers are free and only successful actions count as tasks, so you are not paying every time an app simply checks in.

The Lifetime Plan Option

This one was a deciding factor for me. If you find a tool that works for you and it offers a lifetime deal, I always say take a serious look at it, because that is one less subscription hitting your account for a tool you use every day.

WordPress Integration That Goes Deep

OttoKit connects with WordPress itself and with a long list of WordPress plugins, including form plugins like SureForms, WooCommerce, and other popular plugins. If your website runs on WordPress, this is where OttoKit really pulls ahead.

Connections for Almost Everything

With more than 1,500 integrations, OttoKit works with the tools most small businesses already use. In my setup alone, that includes Stripe, Xero, Google Sheets, Google Contacts, Kit, and Moxie.

Multi-Step Workflows Without Code

One trigger can kick off several actions across different apps. The visual builder lets you map it out step by step, and there are thousands of pre-built templates (OttoKit calls them recipes) you can import and customize.

AI Tools Included on Paid Plans

Every paid plan includes AI agents and an MCP server, which lets AI tools like Claude and ChatGPT connect to your workflows. You do not need either one to get value from OttoKit, but they are there when you are ready to explore.

Where OttoKit Falls Short

No tool is perfect, and I will always be honest with you about the parts that frustrate me.

You Have to Run a Live Test to Pull Sample Data

This is the one that drives me nuts. When you set up a workflow in Zapier, it pulls a recent record, like your latest form submission, so you can map your fields right away.

OttoKit waits for you to go perform the action yourself, like submitting the form, before it can pull data and let you finish building. That is an extra step every single time. I have submitted this on their feedback board, but it has not moved up the list yet.

Advanced Logic Requires the Business Plan

Branches, paths, API calls, and Human in the Loop approvals are only available on the Business plan and up. If your workflows need “if this, do that, otherwise do something else” logic, plan on starting with Business instead of Pro.

Shorter History on Lower Plans

OttoKit keeps a log of each workflow run, but the free plan only holds it for 3 days and Pro holds it for 15. If you like to look back at what ran and when, Business and Business Plus keep 30 days.

The Free Plan Is Best for Testing

The free plan gives you 250 tasks and 20 workflows per month, but it leaves out helpful tools like delays, filters, conditions, and schedules. It is great for trying OttoKit out, but most businesses will want a paid plan pretty quickly.

OttoKit Pricing: What You Get on Each Plan

OttoKit offers annual, monthly, and one-time lifetime pricing. Here is how the plans break down as of October 2026.

Free

$0 forever, with 250 tasks per month and 20 workflows. No credit card is required to sign up.

Pro

$9 per month billed annually ($108 per year) or $12 billed monthly. You get 5,000 tasks per month, unlimited workflows, 1 workspace, and up to 5 WordPress site connections.

Business

$19 per month billed annually ($228 per year) or $24 billed monthly. You get 10,000 tasks, 5 workspaces, unlimited WordPress connections, premium support, and advanced logic tools like branches, paths, and API calls.

Business Plus

$39 per month billed annually ($468 per year) or $49 billed monthly. You get 30,000 tasks, unlimited workspaces, priority support, and a year of SureForms Team included.

Lifetime Plans

Pay once for Pro at $499, Business at $799, or Business Plus at $1,499. One thing to know: you cannot convert an annual plan into a lifetime plan, so if lifetime is your goal, keep that in mind before you buy.

Every paid plan comes with a 14-day money-back guarantee. And if you hit your task limit, your workflows keep running while you add a top-up or upgrade.

OttoKit vs Zapier

Zapier is the name most people know, so it is a fair comparison. Both tools connect your apps with triggers and multi-step actions, and both have free plans to get started.

For me, the difference comes down to three things. OttoKit was more affordable, it had connections I needed that Zapier did not, and it offers a lifetime plan.

Zapier’s big advantage is pulling existing sample data during setup, which makes building a workflow faster. But if your business runs on WordPress, OttoKit is the stronger fit for the price.

Who OttoKit Is Best For

OttoKit is a great fit for:

  • WordPress site owners who want their site, forms, and plugins talking to the rest of their tools
  • WooCommerce store owners automating orders, customers, and follow-up
  • Small business owners connecting their CRM, payment processor, accounting software, and email list
  • Anyone who would rather pay once for a lifetime plan than add another monthly subscription

If you only need one or two simple automations, the free plan may be all you need to start.

Is OttoKit Worth It? My Final Verdict

For me, absolutely. OttoKit runs quietly in the background of my business every day, and the lifetime plan means I am not paying for it month after month.

It is not perfect. The live test requirement during setup still drives me nuts, and the best logic tools sit on the Business plan. But for the price and the connections, it has more than earned its place in my tech stack.

As always, you know your business best, so make sure any tool fits your needs before you commit. Here is how I would get started:

Start with the Free Plan

Create a free OttoKit account and build one workflow for something you currently do by hand.

Pick Your Most Repetitive Task

Look for anything you copy and paste between apps more than once a week. That is your first automation.

Upgrade When You Are Ready

Once you know OttoKit works for you, compare the lifetime plans before committing to annual billing.

FAQs About OttoKit

Yes. SureTriggers rebranded as OttoKit, so if you see older tutorials or plugin listings that mention SureTriggers, they are talking about the same tool.

No. OttoKit connects more than 1,500 apps, so you can automate between tools like Stripe, Xero, and Kit even if WordPress is not involved. WordPress is just where it goes the deepest.

A task is any single action your workflow completes successfully, like sending one email or adding one row to a spreadsheet. Triggers do not count toward your limit.

Yes. OttoKit offers one-time lifetime plans for Pro, Business, and Business Plus, which is the route I took for my own business.
