The Author’s Journey Basic Branding
An indie publishing and book marketing agency built for the most discerning clients in the room needed a brand to match. The Author’s Journey required a visual identity as authoritative and polished as the executives it was built to serve.

Client Need
The founder of The Author’s Journey built an indie publishing and book marketing agency to fill a gap that most of the industry overlooks: actually helping authors sell their books. She offers self-publishing, hybrid publishing, and book marketing services, but her ideal client is not a first-time author figuring out the basics.
She works with high-visibility professionals, C-suite executives, and established personalities who already have the platform, the audience, and the expertise. What they lack is the operational infrastructure to turn their personal brand into a scalable publishing business. They need a team and a system, not hand-holding.
That positioning required a brand that could walk into that room and earn trust immediately. Warm but not casual. Elevated but not cold. The kind of visual identity that signals you are dealing with someone who has done this before and knows exactly what they are doing.
Solution
We built a brand identity rooted in quiet authority. The Timeless Elegance color palette anchors everything in Warm Taupe, a grounding, earthy neutral that signals stability and confidence, supported by Warm Parchment, Soft Camel, and Antique Gold for warmth and depth. Indian Red serves as the highlight color, used intentionally for focal points and calls to action where energy and momentum are needed.
Typography was selected to reinforce the brand’s literary credibility. Libre Baskerville serves as the primary typeface for headlines and key messaging, its classic serifs carrying the weight of a well-published author. Montserrat handles subheadings and navigation with clean geometric structure, while Source Sans 3 keeps long-form body copy open and highly readable on screen and in print.
The result is a brand system that works across every touchpoint The Author’s Journey needs, from a professional website and marketing materials to digital content and printed resources, all speaking the same visual language to the same discerning audience.
